The NSF is a public entity that aims to improve the skills development and employment opportunities of the South African workforce and unemployed youth.
Leadership
The Minister of Higher Education and Training is the executive authority of the NSF and the Director-General for Higher Education and Training is the accounting authority of the NSF.
The NSF reports quarterly to the Minister on the financial and performance status of the entity, compliance with the PFMA, 1999 (Act 1 of 1999) and Treasury Regulations.
The Director-General of Higher Education and Training is responsible for the control of the NSF and is, ultimately, accountable to the Minister of Higher Education and Training, and Parliament for the NSF’s performance, strategic direction and money spent by the fund.
