The Coastal TVET College’s tool and die jig project is another National Skills Fund-funded initiative training future artisans in the tool development industry over five years. These learners are trained in developing raw materials into fine products using different types of machines, such as lathes, milling machines, grinding machines, and jig grinders, in the workshop.

The Department of Higher Education and Training (DHET) is working hard to meet the demand for 30 000 new artisans per year for the government’s strategic infrastructure projects.
