International Scholarships
Our Undergraduate Bursary Programme aims to fund applicants studying full qualifications in scarce and critical skills offered by public universities and agricultural colleges in South Africa. Our undergraduate bursaries administered by the National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) are:
- Scarce and critical skills and disability programme
- Bursaries for Colleges of Agriculture
Our Postgraduate Bursary Programme focuses on scarce skills and supports students at the honours, master, doctoral levels, and postdoctoral fellows. Our postgraduate bursaries are mainly administered through the National Research Foundation (NRF).
The NSF also offers programmes that covers strategic initiatives such as the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants (SAICA) Programme and benefits students enrolled for the Certificate in Theory of Accounting.
Funding for doctorates and post-doctoral research fellowships in the fields of humanities and social sciences is available to qualifying applicants through the NSF’s funding towards the National Institute for the Humanities and Social Sciences (NIHSS).
We co-funded the International Scholarships Programme of the Department of Higher Education and Training (DHET). Most international scholarships are offered for master’s and doctoral qualifications, postdoctoral fellowships, although a limited number of undergraduate scholarships are available. The scholarships are aimed at science, technology and innovation programmes.
